Epidemiology & indicators
This section turns the entered data into indicators to support prevention and squad monitoring.
All indicators are normalized to 1000 hours of activity so they can be compared over time and across groups.
Prerequisite: severity scale
The module relies on a configurable severity scale based on the number of days unavailable.
Common example:
- 1 to 7 days: minor
- 7 to 25 days: moderate
- 25 days or more: severe
Indicator definitions
Exposure (in hours)
Total training and match duration.
When multiple sources exist, the following priority is applied:
- GPS duration
- Individually entered duration (for example: load / RPE)
- Planned session duration
Incidence (frequency)
Measures how often injuries occur.
Formula:
(Number of injuries / Total exposure) × 1000
Burden (impact)
Measures the impact of injuries on the squad by including days unavailable.
Formula:
(Days unavailable / Total exposure) × 1000
Team-level view
The indicators make it possible to track:
- volume (injuries, illnesses, players affected)
- collective exposure
- collective incidence
- collective burden
Player-level view
The same indicators can also be viewed individually in order to:
- track the player’s season (history)
- compare contexts (overall / training / match) depending on your setup
